I recently came across a wonderful article from the American Heart Association on how to eat healthier around the holidays. There are 20 different tips in this article, which you can read in its entirety below this blog post. For the sake of brevity, I’ll be focusing on the two that stood out to me most today.
No. 4 is titled “sip smarter.” It encourages you to drink more water, tea, and coffee while limiting yourself from drinking too many sodas, sports drinks, or energy drinks.
The other one that stood out to me was No. 6: “Keep your portions in control”. This is the toughest one for me, but it’s also the best advice. For a guy like me, I try to keep my first portion a little smaller so I can still come back for seconds without feeling too guilty.
I’m going to try to use as many of these tips as possible to help me maintain my weight through the holidays. I want you to try them too. Take the challenge and let me know how it works out for you over the holidays.
If you have any questions for me in the meantime, don’t hesitate to give me a call or send me an email. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
